What I do
Most of my work starts the same way. Someone has a decision to make - where to expand, which freight to take, what a network costs - and the data that should answer it sits in systems that were never built to talk to each other.
I do both halves. The modelling, and the platform work underneath it.

The name
Of the forest - and transportation goes back further than my resume.
Silva is Latin for forest. DeSilva roughly translates to "of the forest" - and that's where the tree in the mark comes from. Before any of the data work, I spent a few summers planting them.
The other half is less obvious. I'm descended from Pedro da Silva, Canada's first official postman - commissioned in 1705, carrying letters between Quebec and Montreal by canoe in summer and over the ice in winter.
The first person in this country paid to move something across a network. Three centuries on, I've modelled how things move across networks.

Where the practice sits today.
DeSilva Consulting is my practice. The current mandate is co-building the AI practice at Climb Growth Partners. I'm taking on new clients alongside it.
Off the clock
I'm based in Moncton, New Brunswick. I'm a tournament kayak angler, which is where the open-water season goes, and a fair bit of the ice season after it.
The analytics habit doesn't switch off at the launch. Every trip gets logged - conditions, structure, what worked and what didn't - and the season gets read back for patterns. Moneyball for smallmouth bass.
